Once a very strange case came in the court of Emperor Akbar, which made everyone think.
It happened that two women wept in the court of Emperor Akbar. With them was also a beautiful child of about 2 or 3 years. Both the women were crying incessantly and at the same time claiming that the child was theirs. Now the problem was that both lived outside the city, due to which no one visited them. So, it was difficult to tell who is the real mother of the little one.
Now the trouble came in front of Akbar, how to do justice and to whom should the child be given. In this regard, he took the opinion of all the courtiers one by one, but no one could solve this mystery and only then Birbal reached the court.
Seeing Birbal, Emperor Akbar's eyes lit up. As soon as Birbal arrived, Akbar told him about this problem. Akbar told Birbal that now you yourself should solve this problem. Birbal kept thinking about something and then asked to call the executioner.
As soon as the executioner came, Birbal made the child sit in one place and said, "Let's do one thing, we break this child into two pieces. Will give a piece each to both the mothers. If either of these two women does not approve of this, the executioner will cut that woman into two pieces."
On hearing this, one of the women agreed to cut the child into pieces and said that she accepted the order. She will leave with the child's piece, but the other woman cried bitterly and said, "I don't want the baby. Cut me into two pieces, but don't cut the child. Give this child to another woman."
Seeing this, all the courtiers started believing that the woman who is crying because of fear is guilty, but only then Birbal said that imprison the woman who is ready to cut the child, she is the culprit. Hearing this, the woman started crying and apologizing, but Emperor Akbar put her in jail.
Later Akbar asked Birbal that how did you know who the real mother is? Then Birbal smiled and said, “Maharaj Maa takes all the troubles on her head but does not allow the child to even heat up and this is what happened. This showed that the real mother is the one who is ready to cut herself into pieces, but not the child."
After listening to Birbal, Emperor Akbar was once again convinced of Birbal's intellect.
We should never assert our rights over someone else's thing. At the same time, truth always wins and every problem is solved by acting wisely.
